ISGVF could arrange performance of the Nikah Ceremony at ISGVF or on an outside location for a fee.

ISGVF can arrange the performance of the Nikah Ceremony at ISGVF or at an external venue for a fee.

In Islam, marriage (nikah) is a solemn and sacred contract between the bride and groom. It is a sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad . In a Nikah ceremony, the groom, or his representative, proposes to the bride, in front of at least two witnesses. The bride, or her representative, expresses the acceptance of the proposal. 

ISGVF can arrange the performance of the nikah ceremony at ISGVF or at an external venue, for a fee of $500. 

At ISGVF, the Nikah ceremony may be performed in the Main Prayer Hall (Upper Level) or in the Activity Hall (Lower Level).

Only the Nikah ceremony is permitted in the main prayer hall. Any other religiously permitted activities may take place in the Activity Hall. 

In the Main Prayer Hall, guests follow the tradition of sitting down on the carpeted floor during the ceremony. The Main Prayer Hall has chairs to accommodate people with disabilities and seniors who have difficulty sitting down on the floor. The Main Prayer Hall is divided for men and women with a light screen curtain,  designating an area of the hall for men and an area of the hall for women. Please read all guidelines pertaining to the main prayer hall below:

  • All guests must dress modestly. Head scarf is highly recommended for sisters.
  • No food or drink is allowed.
  • No strollers are allowed.
  • Shoes must be taken off and placed in the shoe racks.
  • All guests will sit on the floor of the main prayer hall during the ceremony. Seniors and those with disabilities may use the chairs available.
  • While in the main prayer hall, men and women remain in their respective designated sections. 
  • Children must be supervised.
  • Smoking is not allowed.
  • Upper level must be kept clean. Guests must clean up after themselves.

Those who wish the ISGVF Imam to preside over their nikah ceremony must:

  1. Email a request to office@isgvf.com.
  2. Fill out, sign, and submit the ISGVF marriage application form to office@isgvf.com.
  3. Submit a copy/photo of the civil marriage license to office@isgvf.com.
  4. Submit a copy/photo of IDs of both the bride and groom to office@isgvf.com.
  5. Submit a fee of $500 payable to ISGVF – paid by cash/check or online at: DONATE ONLINE ~ MOHID © (with a note specifying it’s for nikah ceremony).

In Islam, marriage is a legal contract between two people. Marriage (nikah) is a solemn and sacred social contract between the bride and groom. The marriage contract is signed in a Nikah ceremony, in which the groom or his representative proposes to the bride in front of at least two witnesses, stating the details. The bride and groom demonstrate their free will by repeating the word qabul (“I accept”) in Arabic three times. The Nikah is the Sunnah of our Prophet (SAW). At ISGVF, Nikah may be performed in the Main Prayer Hall (Upper Level) or in the Activity Hall (Lower Level) of the Main Building.

The Main Prayer Hall has chairs to accommodate seniors and people with a Handicap who have difficulty sitting down. All other guests are requested to follow prayer hall tradition of comfortably sitting down on the carpeted floor during the ceremony.

The Main Prayer Hall is divided for Men & Women, a light screen curtained section accommodates the Women’s area.

Those who wish ISGVF Imam to preside over their Marriage Ceremony must download the Application form and submit all the required information at least two weeks before the scheduled Ceremony. Please note that a valid Civil Marriage License must be submitted with the application.

Those who wish to use the Activity Hall, must fill out and sign the ISGVF Facility Use form in addition to all the above requirements.

All applications are tentative pending ISGVF approval. Applications will be considered confirmed only once explicit ISGVF approval has been received. ISGVF discourages any announcement of proposed ceremonies until applications are confirmed.
